New International Initiative: The Live-in-Labs Program

The Amrita Center for International Programs (ACIP), in conjunction with the University of California, San Diego (USA), recently launched the Live-in-Labs program where researchers, experts, and students, from multiple disciplines, will work to identify, develop, and deliver integrated and sustainable solutions to transform India’s villages into zero waste, self-sustainable, and self-reliant communities. This international experiential learning program will engage researchers and students from AMRITA, and abroad, with the aim of studying and understanding the challenges that exist in rural India with regards to health, hygiene, energy, water, waste, and the environment. All participants will have an opportunity to live and work in Indian villages for three to six months, enabling them to directly observe, study, and devise solutions to foster sustainable development and self-sufficiency.
